December 2010

Benvenuti has won the Prêmio Funarte de Composição Clássica, a prestigious award given to composers by the National Art Foundation. His piece Mnesterophonia, a cantata for baritone and chamber ensemble, was chosen by the awarding committee through an anonymous competition to be performed in the 19th Contemporary Brazilian Music Biennial (XIX Bienal de Música Brasileira Contemporânea) in 2011. The Biennial is considered to be the most important showcase of contemporary classical music in Brazil.

August 2010

Benvenuti finished his PhD thesis entitled "Sound, Noise, and Entropy: An essay on information theory and music creation". The abstract will be available soon.
